Anthropic is giving startups a free year of Claude Team and $1,000 in credits
The offer is real. It’s an expansion of the Claude Startups program, announced this week.
How to claim it
- Make sure you have a Claude Console account and a company email on the same domain as your website. Applicants need both of these. qz
- Apply at claude.com/programs/startups.
- Once you’re approved, sign in to the Claude Startups page in Claude Console. You claim the API credits there, and the Claude Team offer is claimed from the same area. claude
What you get
- One year of Claude Team free for up to five Premium seats, if you’re new to Claude Team. claude
- $1,000 in Claude API credits. claude
- Partner offers worth up to $45,000 (the “Claude Startup Stack”), redeemed with codes in the Claude Console. Examples include $5,000 of ClickHouse Cloud credits, 12 months of ElevenLabs and three months of Granola Business. madrobot
- Office hours with Anthropic’s Applied AI team and access to Claude Startup events. claude
Eligibility
- Your startup must have been founded within the last five years or received funding within the last two. qz
- Bootstrapped, pre-seed and venture-backed startups can all apply. androidheadlines
- If a VC firm in Anthropic’s partner network backs you, you can access up to $100,000 in additional API credits through that investor. qz
Terms to watch
- The free Team year is only for organizations new to Team. If you already pay for Team, you don’t qualify. madrobot
- The $1,000 credit expires six months after it’s granted. androidheadlines
- It only works on Anthropic’s first-party Claude Console. You can’t use it for AWS Bedrock or Google Cloud Vertex AI. androidheadlines
- The credits don’t create a free unlimited plan. After they run out, you’re on standard API pricing. startuphub
- I didn’t find what happens when the free Team year ends, such as whether it converts to paid billing automatically. Check that on the program page before you enroll.
